Estonia's cinema attendance up 9,000 in first half of 2026
Estonian cinemas recorded 1,259,717 visitors in the first half of 2026, a 0.7% increase from the previous year. Box office revenue reached €9.5 million, while the market share of Estonian films grew to 22.13%.

According to the latest figures, cinema attendance in Estonia saw a modest increase in the first half of 2026. Compared to the same period in 2025, visitor numbers rose by 0.7% or approximately 9,000, totaling 1,259,717.
Box office revenue also grew, reaching €9.5 million, up 6.7% (€597,000) from last year. The average ticket price increased from €7.11 to €7.54, contributing to the higher revenue.
A total of 274 films were screened, 17 more than in the previous year. The number of new releases remained nearly unchanged at 148, compared to 149 in 2025. The market share of Estonian films rose from 20% to 22.13%, despite only 14 new Estonian films premiering, versus 22 the year before.
The top three most-watched films were the Estonian adaptation "Täiuslikud võõrad" (102,513 viewers), the Michael Jackson biopic "Michael" (78,445), and the documentary about Olympic champion Erika Salumäe "Meie Erika" (70,157).
