Estonia's Russian-language channel ETV+ marks 11th anniversary

The Russian-language television channel ETV+, operated by Estonia's national public broadcaster ERR, is celebrating its anniversary. The channel first went on air 11 years ago, on 28 September 2015.

The morning programme "Kofe+" was the show that opened ETV+'s broadcasting on that day, hosted at the time by Yelena Solomina and Dmitry Pastukhov. The same programme still airs on weekdays today, though the studio, broadcast time and hosting duo have changed — it is now presented by Yelena Solomina and Andrei Titov.

Change in leadership

The channel's leadership has also changed over the years. Its first editor-in-chief, who built the channel from scratch, was Daria Saar, who left the post in May 2018. Yekaterina Taklaya was chosen as the new head, starting work on 1 January 2019.

The backbone of the channel's programming remains its own productions — from the news programme "Aktualnaya Kamera" and the morning show "Kofe+" to original projects such as "Svoya Pravda," "Interview of the Week," "Mirror," "Epicenter," "Eyewitness," "It Matters to People" and "Orbita."

Over the years, ETV+ has become an integral part of Estonia's media landscape, bringing together the Russian-speaking audience around quality journalism, culture, sports and popular TV series. The channel says it continues to evolve to meet the demands of the times and remain a reliable companion for its viewers.
