According to annual reports filed by Estonia's largest grocery retail chains, most saw very modest revenue growth in 2025. The exception was Grossi, operated by OG Elektra, which posted a 14% revenue increase to €288.23 million and an 11% profit rise to €12.98 million.

Coop, with a market share of nearly 23%, saw revenue edge up 0.2% to €855.3 million, but operating profit fell by a quarter to €10.2 million. The cooperative noted that food sales volumes declined for the second consecutive year and private consumption has remained at 2023 levels.

Selver's revenue increased 0.2% to €622 million, while profit dropped 20% to €10.34 million. The chain said consumers became more price-conscious and focused on promotional items.

Maxima reported a 0.4% revenue increase to €601 million, but net profit surged 116% to €15.8 million. Rimi's revenue grew by just under 0.5% to €484.98 million, while profit plummeted 69% to €2.45 million.

Prisma, which operates seven stores in Estonia, saw revenue rise nearly 1% to €207.7 million, but posted a net loss of €3.79 million, 7% larger than in 2024.

Several retailers cited weak consumer confidence, high energy prices, and VAT increases as key challenges impacting purchasing power and sales volumes.
