Historic Motorcycle Rally in Estonia

Approximately 50 bikers participated in the "Star Motor Rally" on Sunday, June 23, retracing the route of the first such event from 1931. The riders covered more than 600 kilometers on Estonia's roads, starting in Tallinn and passing through Pärnu, Viljandi, Tartu, Mustvee, and Jõhvi before finishing at the Narva-Jõesuu resort, just as 95 years ago, reported ETV+'s "Aktuaalne kaamera" news program.

The first "Star Motor Rally" took place in June 1931, gathering 72 motorcyclists from Estonia, Finland, and other countries. This year's event was organized by the retro vehicle club Classic Riders, supported by other motorcycle clubs across the country.

Rare Motorcycles and Historical Significance

Particular attention was drawn by the rare historic motorcycles taking part. According to club president Pavel Petras, the oldest exhibit was a 1930 Triumph owned by Anatoli Metus from the Unic Moto club. Petras noted that this motorcycle likely participated in the 1931 rally, as a photograph survives, and very few such models remain in Estonia.

Organizers emphasized that the main goal of the event was not only to honor the history of Estonia's motorcycle movement but also to showcase preserved examples of retro machinery, many of which are still in working condition.
