Estonia's port cargo turnover down 8.6% in first quarter
In Q1 2026, Estonia's main ports handled 4.35 million tons of cargo, down 8.6% from 4.76 million tons a year earlier.

According to Statistics Estonia, the cargo turnover of Estonia's main ports in the first quarter of 2026 fell by 8.6% compared to the same period last year. A total of 4.35 million tons of cargo were handled, down from 4.76 million tons in the first quarter of 2025.
The most significant decline was in liquid bulk cargo, which dropped by 35.4% from 849,400 tons to 548,600 tons. In contrast, dry bulk cargo increased by 15.4%, from 715,900 tons to 825,900 tons.
Unloaded cargo volumes decreased by 5.9% to 1.59 million tons from 1.69 million tons. Loaded cargo saw a sharper drop of 10%, falling from 3.07 million tons to 2.76 million tons.
