Estonian goods exports up by 9% in May

According to Statistics Estonia, Estonia's goods exports in May increased by 9% year-on-year, while imports grew by 4%. Exports to EU countries rose by 13%, but trade with non-EU countries declined.

Data from Statistics Estonia show that in May 2025, Estonia's goods exports exceeded 1.7 billion euros, while imports surpassed 1.9 billion euros. The foreign trade deficit in goods stood at 224 million euros, a decrease of 63 million euros compared to May 2024.

Exports to EU member states increased by 13%, and imports from them rose by 9%. Meanwhile, trade with non-EU countries contracted: exports to third countries fell by 3%, and imports from them dropped by 16%. Exports of domestically produced goods grew by 5%, accounting for 62% of total exports, while re-exports increased by 15%.

Electrical equipment dominated exports, while imports were led by vehicles and electrical equipment. Estonia's main trading partners in May were Finland, Latvia, and Lithuania.
