Filming of the Estonian-Ukrainian co-production adventure series 'Girl from Tallinn,' which began in Kyiv in May, continued in Estonia in early July and is nearing completion. Most of the shooting took place in Kyiv and its surroundings, where the 1990s Tallinn was also depicted.

Producer Evgeny Supin explained that modern Tallinn is not suitable for portraying the 1990s. After reviewing reference photos, he realized that Tallinn in the early 1990s and today are two different cities, two different countries, two different worlds. In Ukraine, in Kyiv, it is much easier to find preserved settings that convey the 1990s atmosphere.

After a month of filming in Kyiv, 'Girl from Tallinn' finally arrived in Tallinn. There, journalist from 'Aktuaalne Kaamera' Anton Alekseev had the opportunity to take part in the filming. His role was small and silent – a waiter in a roadside cafe in the early 1990s.

Along with part of the actors, some of the Ukrainian film crew also came to Estonia. Director Ilmar Raag emphasized that the Ukrainians who arrived here live in Kyiv or elsewhere in Ukraine with their relatives. When these actors come to the set in the morning after another massive attack during the night, everyone sees that they haven't slept. They constantly ask their loved ones: 'How are you? Is the house intact? Are the windows broken?' This affects the atmosphere on set.

Journalist Alekseev noted that the atmosphere on set felt professional and even friendly. The premiere of the series is scheduled for early next year.
