Estonian-Finnish Drama Series Gets Council of Europe Funding
The Estonian-Finnish drama series 'Dead Women Talking' has received €300,000 from the Council of Europe's Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions, one of seven projects supported this year.

An Estonian-Finnish co-produced drama series about a 1980s double murder has secured funding from the Council of Europe's Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions. The series, titled "Kuollut nainen puhuu" ("Dead Women Talking"), is co-produced in Estonia by Cuba Films OÜ. It received a production grant of €300,000, one of seven projects sharing a total of €2.1 million this year.
The story revolves around a reopened double murder case that shook a small Finnish town in the late 1980s. As investigators dig deeper, they uncover lies and secrets that put their own lives at risk.
Ingrid Eloranta, a producer at Cuba Films, expressed delight at the international collaboration. "Such collaborations demonstrate that the Estonian film industry is a reliable partner, even for the most ambitious European projects," Eloranta said.
The Council of Europe's pilot programme is a cultural funding initiative that supports high-quality international co-production series. This year, it selected seven projects for support.
