Estonian triathlete Henry Räppo, 28, secured his second consecutive win at the Ironman Tallinn 70.3 on Sunday, the half-distance event held the day after Saturday's full-distance Ironman race.

Räppo completed the 1,900-meter swim, 90-kilometer bike leg and half marathon run in a combined time of 3 hours, 38 minutes and 32 seconds. Germany's Hannes Butters finished second, one minute and seven seconds behind, while Italy's Enzo Bourdon took third place, trailing by nearly three minutes.

In the women's race, Italy's Marta Bernardi took first place with a time of 4:12.03. Estonia's 20-year-old Liis Kapten was in second position entering the finish straight but fell after giving everything she had, losing the spot to France's Sandra Huon, who finished 1:05 behind Bernardi. Kapten managed to get back up and crossed the line just four seconds after Huon, taking an impressive third place at 1:09 behind the winner and finishing as the top Estonian.

In Saturday's full-distance race, France's Remi Conte won the men's competition, while Finland's Laura Jalasto was the fastest woman. Estonia's Kristofer Kamberg was the top finisher among host-nation athletes in the full event.
