Ikšķile to host eighth International Operetta Festival

On August 9, the eighth International Operetta Festival will open at St. Meinard's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ikšķile, featuring performances by young artists. The festival will run for a week.

Audiences will be offered a production based on one of the world's best-known plays, dedicated to the legendary opera singer Maria Callas. Opera singer Sonora Vaice will take on the lead role.

Viennese chansons and masterclasses

Alongside the Callas-themed production, the festival program includes a Viennese chanson concert. In addition, international masterclasses are planned, giving participants the chance to explore various forms of musical theater.

The International Operetta Festival in Ikšķile is taking place for the eighth time and has become an annual event that draws the attention of both performers and music lovers.
