Biography “Zvaigžņu ielas simfonija” Published for Imants Kalniņš’s 85th Anniversary
A biography of composer Imants Kalniņš, titled “Zvaigžņu ielas simfonija”, has been released. Author Linda Apse delivered the first copy to Liepāja, where Kalniņš said the book keeps him company on stage and reminds him of his close ones.
The publishing house “Vincent” has issued a biographical work dedicated to composer Imants Kalniņš, who is celebrating his 85th birthday this year. The book, written by Linda Apse, is called “Zvaigžņu ielas simfonija”.
The author personally took the first copy to Liepāja to meet with the composer. Kalniņš shared that this publication is particularly meaningful to him because it “does not leave me alone on stage”. He explained that the book brings onto the stage also his mother (Mātuža), grandmother, brother Vika, Agriņš, and others with whom he has been connected. The composer admitted that with this book he feels safer and better.
