Infantino confirms Trump will attend World Cup final, present trophy
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said US President Donald Trump will be at the World Cup final and together they will hand over the trophy to the winners.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino confirmed in a Fox News interview on Tuesday morning that US President Donald Trump will attend the World Cup final on July 19 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and take part in the trophy presentation.
"We will be together with the president, enjoying the final, and handing the trophy to the winner – of course, together," Infantino said. When asked to clarify that he and Trump would present the trophy together, he added: "Of course. We are together all the time."
Trump previously participated in the ceremony at last year's FIFA Club World Cup final, where Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 at the same venue. He remained on stage as Chelsea lifted the trophy. Later, the trophy was seen in the Oval Office, with Chelsea reportedly receiving a replica.
According to The Athletic, citing FIFA sources, Infantino has been aiming to attend as many matches as possible, up to two per day so far. Trump has not attended any matches in this year's World Cup yet.
