Inter grind out narrow win at Cagliari as Como stuns Napoli

Italian Serie A champions Inter continued their perfect start to the new season with a 1:0 away win over Cagliari. The only goal came in the ninth minute, when Turkish forward Hakan Calhanoglu curled in a precise long-range effort — his second goal in as many rounds.

Inter dominated proceedings, firing 16 shots to none in the first half alone, five of them on target, yet could not add to their lead. As the match wore on, Cagliari pushed forward and came close to equalizing, but Inter held firm to secure all three points and head home with the win intact.

Como get the better of Napoli

Elsewhere, last season's runners-up Napoli fell 1:2 away to fourth-placed Como. It was the fifth meeting between the two sides since 2025, with Como now holding two wins in the series while Napoli have yet to win any of them.

Como took the lead in the 17th minute through Martin Baturina, who turned and fired into the bottom corner from ten meters out. The advantage was doubled in the 34th minute after Como pressed high in Napoli's box, with Anastasios Douvikas converting the resulting chance.

Four clubs now sit on a maximum six points after two rounds: Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, and Lazio. The latter secured their win at home against Genoa, defeating them 1:0 thanks to a goal from Davide Frattesi in the 25th minute.
