Inter Milan agree £30m deal for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones
Inter Milan have signed Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones in a deal worth up to 35m euros, with the 25-year-old putting pen to paper on a contract until 2031.

Serie A champions Inter Milan have completed the signing of Curtis Jones from Liverpool, in a transfer that could be worth as much as 35m euros, roughly £30m. The package consists of a guaranteed 30m euros plus a further 5m euros in performance-related add-ons.
The 25-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a contract that keeps him at the San Siro until 2031. Liverpool also secured a 10% sell-on clause, meaning the club stands to benefit financially if Inter sell Jones on in the future.
The move follows months of negotiation. Liverpool turned down a verbal offer of 25m euros from Inter in June, as the Premier League club valued their academy graduate — who had a single year left on his previous deal — at closer to £35m. Liverpool later indicated a fee similar to the roughly £30m Inter paid Tottenham for Djed Spence would likely get a deal over the line.
Inter had also shown interest in Jones back in January, when they proposed taking him on loan with an option to buy, but Liverpool rejected that approach at the time.
Jones came through Liverpool's academy, joining at the age of nine, and made his first-team debut in 2019 under then-manager Jurgen Klopp. He went on to make 228 appearances for the club. Last season, however, he featured 49 times across all competitions but started only 18 Premier League matches, finding it difficult to hold down a regular midfield place under current manager Arne Slot.
Jones becomes the third English player to move to Inter this summer, joining fellow arrivals John Stones and Djed Spence at the club.
