The conflict between the United States and Iran has escalated further after President Donald Trump declared 10 days ago that the peace deal with Iran is over. In the seventh consecutive night of US attacks, a desalination plant in Jask, southern Iran, was hit, destroying a seawater pumping station and a power transformer. Hamzeh Pour, head of the Hormozgan Water and Wastewater Company, said 20 villages were left without water.

Iran retaliated by launching drones and missiles at US-allied Gulf states. Kuwait closed its airspace after Iranian strikes hit two power and water desalination plants, wounding several firefighters. Air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain, and Jordan reported intercepting 10 Iranian ballistic missiles.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted a US fuel pier at Kuwait's al-Ahmadi port, a US warplane assembly site in Bahrain, and a US base in Azraq, Jordan, claiming to have destroyed two American fighter jets.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed new strikes against surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities in Iran.

The conflict intensified after Trump announced at the NATO summit in Ankara that the US-Iran memorandum of understanding was void, citing Iranian attacks on tankers near the Strait of Hormuz. The US reinstated a naval blockade on Iranian ports and revoked sanctions waivers on Iranian oil exports.

Iran insists it has the right to control maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, while Trump demands the strait remain open. US attacks have expanded over the past week, with Iran accusing Washington of war crimes and targeting civilian infrastructure. Iranian officials warned they would respond by striking civilian infrastructure across the Gulf region, as they have done in Kuwait.
