Iran Attacks Bahrain with Drones and Strikes Tanker in Hormuz Strait
Iran launched drone attacks on Bahrain and a tanker in the Hormuz Strait on Saturday, accusing the US of violating a ceasefire. The US had previously struck Iranian targets in response to a drone attack on a Singapore-flagged cargo ship.

Drone Strikes on Bahrain and Hormuz Strait
On Saturday, Iranian drones attacked Bahrain, a country hosting the US Navy's 5th Fleet that recently welcomed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Bahrain's Foreign Ministry stated that several Iranian drones targeted the nation, calling it a clear threat to the safety of citizens and residents.
That same day, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported an attack on a tanker in the Hormuz Strait, noting that the crew was safe and no environmental damage was detected.
Iran Claims Attacks on US Positions
Iran's Revolutionary Guard issued a statement claiming it had attacked multiple US military locations in the region. Tehran accused Washington of blatantly violating a ceasefire agreement, citing recent US strikes on Iranian coastal observation facilities.
US and Iran Exchange Strikes
The US military announced on Friday it had struck Iranian missile and drone storage sites as well as coastal radar installations. This was retaliation for Thursday's drone attack on the Singapore-flagged cargo ship "Ever Lovely," which damaged its bridge. CENTCOM described that attack as "unprovoked aggression" and a ceasefire breach.
President Donald Trump accused Iran of at least four drone attacks on ships in the Hormuz Strait, claiming US forces shot down three of the drones. On his Truth Social platform, Trump called it a "stupid violation of our ceasefire agreement."
