Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a statement on Saturday vowing to avenge the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, and to kill U.S. President Donald Trump. His father died in an Israeli airstrike on February 28.

Khamenei said: "We swear to avenge your pure blood and the blood of all martyrs. This revenge is demanded by our people, and it must be done." The new leader has not appeared in public for months; rumors suggest he was disfigured by injuries sustained in the attack.

According to intelligence shared by Israel with the United States, Tehran has developed a new plot to assassinate Trump. Following the NATO summit in Ankara, President Trump flew from Turkey not on the new Air Force One (a gift from Qatar) but on an older aircraft. He made an intermediate stop at the British military base RAF Mildenhall, where he switched to the new plane. The White House said the change was to show the aircraft to military personnel, but media linked it to the intelligence about a potential assassination attempt.

Trump stated he had left clear instructions to "bomb Iran to an unprecedented level" if Tehran succeeds in carrying out its assassination plans.
