Iran's Revolutionary Guards Step Up Surveillance in Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Revolutionary Guards have deployed special forces along the Persian Gulf coast to monitor ships using the Oman-side route through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to London-based media outlet "Iran International," citing informed sources, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has deployed special forces along the Persian Gulf coast. The aim is to timely identify vessels that use the sea route on the Oman side to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
The sources also indicate that IRGC members, through contacts in Oman, are attempting to gain access to vessel movement lists and coordination details. These measures reflect Iran's heightened focus on maritime traffic in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world's oil is transported.
