Kuwait's army announced that its air defenses intercepted "hostile missile and drone attacks" over the country. In a statement on platform X, the army's general staff said that any explosions heard were the result of air defense systems engaging hostile targets, without specifying the origin of the attacks.
Meanwhile, missile warning sirens were activated in Bahrain and Qatar, warning of an Iranian attack. Explosions were heard in Bahrain after the sirens. No reports of damage or casualties have been received from these Gulf Arab states yet.
Iran had also attacked Bahrain and Kuwait on Wednesday, in response to US airstrikes that began Tuesday evening following Iran's earlier attacks on three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. The situation in the region remains tense.
