Irish writer and artist Sara Baume visited Latvia last March to take part in the Riga Book Festival at the National Library of Latvia. During her stay, she gave an interview to LSM author Aija Bremšmite, in which she discussed the creation of her novel “Flow Over Fall Wilt”. Latvian readers have been able to enjoy this work since mid-2025, when it was published by the publishing house “Jānis Roze”.

In the conversation, Baume shared her thoughts on the emergence of loneliness, noting that it often arises when a person is unhappy. She also emphasised the importance of empathy – the ability to feel for others, which is central to her writing. The writer revealed that the creative process is both challenging and fascinating, requiring deep immersion into human emotions.
