Genuine Piece of Blarney Stone Found in Reno

A small piece of the actual Blarney Stone from Ireland is embedded in the wall of a former casino in Reno, Nevada, and is believed to bring luck to those who touch it.

In Reno, Nevada, an unusual attraction sits right in the middle of the city: a genuine fragment of the Blarney Stone from Blarney Castle in County Cork, Ireland. The stone is embedded in the wall of the old Fitzgerald Casino, directly along Virginia Street.

This piece is one of the very few ever allowed to leave Ireland. It was dedicated on March 17, 1988, by the Northern Nevada Chapter of the Sons of Erin. Many still believe that rubbing the stone brings good luck.

According to legend, anyone who kisses the Blarney Stone is granted the gift of eloquence. This installation is free and accessible on the street, so anyone passing by can touch it—or even kiss it—hoping to gain the legendary gift of gab.

While the original Blarney Stone in Ireland is kissed by thousands of visitors each year, this rare fragment offers a unique chance to experience the legend without traveling across the Atlantic. Over time, the stone has become a local landmark, drawing both tourists and residents eager to connect with a piece of Irish folklore.
