Italian actress Ornella Muti and her daughter Naike Rivelli intend to acquire Russian citizenship, citing their Russian roots.

According to RIA Novosti, Naike Rivelli, daughter of Italian actress Ornella Muti, has announced that she and her mother are applying for Russian citizenship "to feel truly at home." Rivelli stated that they have Russian roots and cannot renounce their origin, family, and friends.
The singer also said that they are considering buying a house in Moscow or St. Petersburg to bring other family members to Russia. Rivelli added that they have often faced criticism for their frequent trips to Russia and plans to obtain Russian passports.
Ornella Muti is an Italian actress best known for her roles in the films "The Taming of the Scoundrel" and "Life Is Beautiful." She regularly visits Russia. One such trip led to a jail sentence in 2010 when she skipped a theater performance in Pordenone to attend a charity event in St. Petersburg attended by Vladimir Putin. The performance was canceled, and the theater sued Muti.
