ITTF Lifts Restrictions on Russian Table Tennis Players
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has announced the return of Russian athletes to international competitions, following the IOC's recommendation.

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has announced that it is lifting the restrictions imposed on Russian athletes, allowing them to return to international competitions. This decision follows the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) recent move to remove restrictions on Russian athletes, including allowing participation in team events and qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The ITTF stated that the restrictions were put in place in 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but the organization has now decided to follow the IOC's recommendation. The return applies to both Russian athletes and para-athletes.
In its announcement, the ITTF emphasized that Russian athletes must comply with anti-doping requirements when competing. However, the decision does not override other limitations such as visa restrictions, sanctions, or government directives that may prevent Russian athletes from participating.
