November issue of “Lauku Lapa” published: agriculture growth plan and “Mans Lauks” updates
The November issue of “Lauku Lapa”, published by the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre (LLKC), covers the government's Agricultural Growth Plan for 2026–2036. It also features updates to the “Mans Lauks” system, accounting explanations and training for forest owners.

The November issue of “Lauku Lapa”, an information publication of the Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre (LLKC), gives rural entrepreneurs details on the Latvian Agricultural Growth Plan for 2026–2036, adopted by the government on 13 October. The plan sets out four development directions, designed to make Latvia's farmland more productive and to ensure that local production brings greater economic benefit.
Digital tools and local food
The issue describes updates to “Mans Lauks”, the electronic farm management system: planning of feed requirements has become more convenient and easier to follow. It also continues its series of articles on local food in public procurement, looking at both opportunities and challenges.
Experience and practical examples
In the good-practice section, readers meet Dzintra Bokta, who keeps bees and poultry in Ogre municipality. The LEADER initiatives section looks at Ābeļciems, where a project is becoming an investment in the community's future. The crop farming section presents results of an LLKC demonstration trial, assessing the economic efficiency of technological solutions for sowing peas.
Taxes and accounting
The accounting section explains how farmers affected by heavy rain can ask for an extension of the tax payment deadline, what amendments have been made to the bookkeeping rules, and how the micro-enterprise tax for beginners works.
Training for forest owners
The LLKC Forest Advisory Services Centre is organising training for forest owners with co-financing from the European Union. As usual, the issue includes a calendar of the key dates that rural entrepreneurs should not forget next month.
