Art historian Imants Lancmanis has released a new book titled The Splendor of the Courland Dukes' Court and Kuldīga Castle. The publication grew out of a three-hour lecture the author delivered three years ago at the Kuldīga Art House.

Kuldīga's heritage

Kuldīga's rich history is a source of pride not only for its residents but has also gained international recognition — in 2023 the town was added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

The new book focuses on the history of the Courland dukes' court and the role Kuldīga Castle played within it, offering an in-depth look at the region's cultural and historical legacy.
