Israel destroys Hezbollah tunnel, strikes southern Lebanon
The Israeli army destroyed an extensive Hezbollah tunnel in southern Lebanon on Sunday, with Lebanese state media reporting additional strikes. The attacks came despite a trilateral framework agreement signed Friday between Lebanon and Israel under US auspices to pursue peace and disarm Hezbollah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed on Sunday that the military had destroyed a large tunnel built by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Concurrently, Lebanese state media reported Israeli strikes in the area.
The operations occurred just two days after Lebanon and Israel, under US sponsorship, signed a trilateral framework agreement on Friday aimed at paving the way for peace and the disarmament of the Iran-backed Hezbollah group. The agreement is seen as a potential breakthrough in long-standing tensions.
It remains unclear whether the Israeli actions will affect the ceasefire conditions. Hezbollah has not yet officially commented on the tunnel's destruction. Analysts warn that such incidents could undermine the newly signed accord.
