Israeli airline plans direct Tallinn–Tel Aviv flights
Israeli airline Arkia plans to launch direct flights between Estonia's capital Tallinn and Tel Aviv next summer season. Whether they go ahead will also depend on the regional security situation.

Israeli airline Arkia is planning to launch direct flights between Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, and Tel Aviv in Israel during next year's summer season. Whether the flights actually begin will also depend on the security situation in the region. The route could increase the flow of Israeli tourists to Estonia.
Eero Pärgmäe, a member of the Tallinn Airport management board, told ERR that the plans stem from Israeli tour operators' wish to bring tourists from Israel to Estonia. According to him, the operators have had very positive experiences organizing similar trips to Lithuania and now want to add Estonia to their range of destinations.
Pärgmäe stressed that the main aim of the planned air route is to boost inbound tourism to Estonia. The final details of the route are still being negotiated.
Security situation is decisive
Tel Aviv has regular international flights to numerous destinations around the world, including several European countries. Pärgmäe acknowledged that whether the planned flights between Tallinn and Tel Aviv ultimately go ahead will, of course, depend on the security situation in the region.
The source does not give a specific start date for the flights or their frequency. These matters appear to still be under discussion between the parties involved.
