Equipment from closed Trouw Nutrition Belfast plant goes to auction
Production equipment from animal nutrition company Trouw Nutrition's closed Belfast plant in Northern Ireland will be sold in an online auction. Bidding ends on 4 November.

Production equipment from the Belfast factory of animal nutrition company Trouw Nutrition, in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, is to be sold in an online auction. The plant closed on 30 September. The sale is run by NCM, and bidding ends at 1:00 p.m. on 4 November. Interested buyers can already view the full catalogue and register to bid online.
What is on offer
The lots include complete dosing, mixing, bulk handling, bagging and palletising systems. They also cover 35-tonne bulk dosing silos, bulk bag silos, Guttridge conveyors, weighing and ingredient handling equipment, Robopac pallet wrapping equipment and other supporting production and factory assets.
Many of the larger systems are available both as complete lines and as individual components. According to NCM, this allows businesses seeking a full production setup to bid, as well as those wanting to add or upgrade single pieces of equipment.
Who might be interested
Amy Rutherford, partnerships lead at NCM, said the sale includes "a significant collection of production equipment". She said the lines could suit feed manufacturers, premix and powdered nutrition producers, fertiliser businesses and other bulk material handling operations. She added that the Belfast location is particularly relevant to manufacturers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and that NCM is also talking to businesses across the wider UK and the European feed and bulk processing industries.
Background
Trouw Nutrition, a division of Nutreco, decided earlier this year to close its production plant on Ship Street in Belfast. The company said it would remain "fully operational" in Ireland. Its commercial, sales, technical support and customer relationship teams continue to operate as normal from its office at Clarendon Dock in Belfast.
