New Methodological Material for Teachers on Latvian Language Issues
The Zemgale Regional Competence Development Centre has created a methodological resource covering 40 common Latvian language questions to help teachers improve their professional communication.

The Education Development Department of the Zemgale Regional Competence Development Centre (ZRKAC) has developed a new methodological material titled “Language Laboratory for Teachers: 40 Current Latvian Language Questions”. It is designed to help educators refine their use of the state language in professional settings.
The material compiles 40 frequently encountered Latvian language issues that can cause confusion in everyday communication. Topics include grammar, spelling, stylistics, word usage, and sentence construction. Each section provides concrete examples, explanations, and practical tips useful for drafting emails, documents, messages, and teaching materials.
Initially, the content was published weekly during the 2025/2026 school year on ZRKAC’s Facebook page. Now it has been compiled into a single edition in infographic format.
ZRKAC notes that the material is especially beneficial for teachers working in linguistically diverse environments who regularly seek to improve their professional communication in the official language.
The methodological material is freely available on the ZRKAC website. Educators are also encouraged to use the platform “metodiskiedargumi.lv”, which offers various methodological resources created by teachers from across Latvia and allows users to share their own materials.
