Jackery has introduced the FridgeGuard, which it claims is the “world’s slimmest” fridge battery backup. Measuring just 2.63 inches (67mm) thick, the device is intended to be placed on top of, beside, or behind a refrigerator. It automatically activates with a 10ms UPS switchover during a power outage.

The FridgeGuard offers 800W of AC output (1600W peak) and a 1kWh LFP battery, which can keep a typical US fridge/freezer combo running for about 10 hours—or double that with an additional 1kWh expansion battery. Its cooling fans operate at 40dB, comparable to a standard refrigerator.

While designed for fridges, the FridgeGuard can also power other devices such as CPAP machines, game consoles, or TVs. It joins a growing list of slim batteries aimed at preventing food spoilage during blackouts, including Biolite (finally shipping in August), Bluetti, and newcomers like Pila.

The FridgeGuard launches as a Costco exclusive in the US starting June 22, priced at $559.99 for members.
