Jaguar reveals first glimpse inside its electric Type 01

Jaguar has released new photographs offering a look inside the cabin of its upcoming electric vehicle, the Type 01. The interior is finished in a predominantly beige color scheme, with a central "spine" running the length of the car that separates the four seats. The images show a low-slung driver's seat alongside a slim dashboard featuring a compact, smartphone-style display.

One notable design choice is the absence of a traditional rear-view mirror. In its place, Jaguar has installed what it calls a "ClearSight Rear View Display," positioned at the bottom of the windshield at the same height as the door mirrors. According to Jaguar, this placement is intended to help drivers keep their focus on the road.

The automaker also mentioned that the cabin includes concealed storage compartments and technology features that remain hidden until needed, though these details aren't visible in the released photos.

Follow-up to a divisive concept

The Type 01 builds on the Type 00 concept car, which Jaguar first unveiled in 2024 and which drew mixed reactions at the time. The new model marks the first production vehicle built on Jaguar's new Electric Architecture platform.

The company plans to display a camouflage-wrapped Type 01 prototype during Monterey Car Week, ahead of the model's official unveiling scheduled for October 6th.
