At the Riga Latvian Society House, a new exhibition dedicated to the memory of Jānis Streičs has opened. The display, titled 'Remembering Jānis Streičs', is housed in the White Hall of Māmuļa. It is a memorial solo exhibition that marks the beginning of a series of commemorative events.

In the near future, a number of activities are planned to honour the legendary film director, writer and painter, who would have turned 90 on 26 September this year. Jānis Streičs was an outstanding figure in Latvian culture, leaving a significant contribution to cinema and literature. He was also a gifted painter, and now this artistic field is brought to the fore in his memorial exhibition.

Moreover, Streičs once served as chairman of the Riga Latvian Society, which gives special significance to an exhibition held in this very house. The exhibition offers a chance to see the master's personality from another angle, emphasising his visual artistic talent. Organisers call it a memorial solo exhibition, noting that it is only the first of the planned remembrance events.

Visitors are invited to view works connected with Streičs's life and creative legacy, and thus take part in preserving his memory. The exhibition is a notable event in Latvia's cultural life, dedicated to one of the most prominent representatives of Latvian cinema and literature.
