Jāņi Unites Latvians Worldwide – Celebrations Held from South Korea to the USA
Latvian communities around the world have celebrated Jāņi, gathering in large and small groups to mark the summer solstice with bonfires and togetherness.

Wherever Latvians are in the world, the Midsummer bonfire serves as a unifying symbol. This year, summer solstice festivities took place in several countries with Latvian diaspora communities. Whether large events or small gatherings of friends, the essence of the celebration is the joy of being together, not the number of participants.
The scent of Jāņi herbs spread far this year: in South Korea, Australia, the United States, and many other places. Each community, regardless of size, created the warm, heartfelt atmosphere characteristic of this traditional festival.
