Jānis Reišulis finishes fourth in first race as Spain's Fores clinches MX2 world title

At the MX2 Motocross World Championship round in Darwin, Spanish rider Fores clinched the 2026 world championship title by finishing second in the first race, wrapping up the crown before the season's conclusion.

The race itself was won by Fores' Triumph teammate Camden McLellan, who held the lead throughout after a strong start, delivering a one-two finish for the team. Third place went to Liam Everts, riding a Husqvarna.

After the title was confirmed, Fores expressed satisfaction with the season, noting it had gone well since his return to Europe, and thanked the Triumph team for their trust while also greeting supporters back home.

Latvian riders

Latvia's Jānis Reišulis rode a steady, largely solitary race, running in fourth place for most of the moto and finishing there, roughly 17 seconds behind winner McLellan. Sasha Coenen finished fifth, about eight seconds behind fourth place.

The second Latvian rider, Kārlis Alberts Reišulis, was ninth after the first lap and held that position through to the finish.

Both Latvian riders had already secured strong positions in the overall season standings ahead of this round — Jānis Reišulis in sixth place in his debut season, and Kārlis Alberts Reišulis in seventh.
