Jānis Reišulis Takes Third Place in MX2 Round in South Africa
Latvian motocross rider Jānis Mārtiņš Reišulis finished third in the MX2 class at the 11th round of the World Championship in South Africa on Sunday, while Pauls Jonass placed ninth in MXGP.

On Sunday, July 5, the 11th round of the FIM World Motocross Championship took place in South Africa. In the MX2 class, Latvian rider Jānis Mārtiņš Reišulis secured third place overall, while his brother Kārlis Alberts Reišulis finished seventh. In the MXGP class, Pauls Jonass ended up ninth after a difficult second race.
In the first MX2 race, Spain's Guillem Farres won ahead of Belgium's Sacha Coenen and Germany's Simon Langenfelder. Jānis Reišulis was fourth, Kārlis Alberta seventh. The second race saw Farres win again, with Langenfelder second and Jānis Reišulis third, marking his second consecutive podium finish. Coenen crashed and finished sixth, just ahead of Kārlis Reišulis in seventh. Overall points: Farres 50, Langenfelder 42, Jānis 38, Kārlis 28.
In MXGP, the first race was dominated by Lucas Coenen, followed by Jeffrey Herlings and Romain Febvre. Pauls Jonass, initially fifth, moved up to fourth after Tom Vialle's crash. In the second race, Coenen won again, with Herlings and Febvre completing the top three. Jonass, battling for eighth, crashed and dropped to 13th, finishing the round ninth overall with 26 points. Coenen took 50 points, Herlings 44, Febvre 40.
In the championship standings, MX2 leader is Sacha Coenen (518 points), Farres second (504), Jānis Reišulis sixth (400), Kārlis eighth (307). MXGP leader Lucas Coenen (566) leads Herlings (498), while Jonass is tenth (268). The season consists of 19 rounds.
