Midsummer holidays marred by tragedies: road, water, and fire fatalities
Despite annual hopes, the Midsummer holiday weekend again saw multiple deaths in traffic accidents, drownings, and fires.

Almost every year, on the eve of Midsummer, we hope that this time the holiday chronicle will be free of tragedies. However, the long holiday weekend again turned bitter with grim statistics. In the past 24 hours and over the entire weekend, several people lost their lives – on the roads, in the water, and in fires.
This situation recurs almost annually, and emergency services have been working at increased capacity to respond to incidents. Unfortunately, not all accidents are preventable, and the holiday period traditionally carries higher risks – people spend more time near water, on the roads, and using fire. Authorities remind the public to follow safety guidelines, but the tragic events underscore the vital importance of caution.
