Midsummer weather forecast: dry on Līgo, light rain on Jāņi

The new week in Latvia will start with dry and warm weather, but a cyclone approaching in the second half will bring more precipitation. Monday is expected to be mostly sunny and rainless, with light winds and temperatures between +21°C and +26°C, slightly cooler near the coast. Fog may form in western areas during the night and morning. Tuesday, Līgo day, will be dry, while on the night into Wednesday (Jāņi night) some rain is expected in places. Wednesday (Jāņi day) may also have light rain locally, with variable cloud cover. Nights will cool to +10…+15°C, but daytime temperatures will remain warm, ranging from +19°C to +24°C. Later in the week, on Thursday, a cyclone will bring rain over a large area, but the weather is expected to clear up again by the weekend.
