New poll suggests seven parties would enter the 15th Saeima

A recent opinion poll suggests that seven parties and alliances would currently clear the threshold to enter the Saeima, based on results recalculated among respondents who have already made up their minds on how to vote.

According to the survey, the parties expected to pass the 5% threshold are the Latvia First party, National Alliance, For Progressive/Progressives, the Union of Greens and Farmers, the Sovereign Power/New Latvians alliance, New Unity, and the United List.

Survey methodology

The poll was conducted using stratified random sampling and included 1,058 Latvian citizens aged 18 to 74. The sample was built using the latest statistical data on population distribution across the country's administrative territorial units. Data collection combined in-person interviews at respondents' homes with telephone interviews.

The poll's authors note that the results reflect the views only of those voters who already have a clear political preference, meaning undecided voters were excluded from the calculation.

Election approaching

The election for the 15th Saeima is scheduled for the first Saturday of October. Additional polling data is expected to be published in the coming weeks, offering further insight into shifting levels of support for Latvia's political parties ahead of the vote.
