The new week in Latvia is set to start with damp and gloomy weather: overnight into Monday and during the day, skies will be mostly overcast, rain is expected in many areas, and fog will form in some districts. The forecast comes from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, the state body responsible for weather observations and forecasts.
Overnight into Monday
The weather will be shaped by a cyclone over the Baltic Sea. Rain will fall at times in many places, and heavy downpours are possible in some locations. Although the sky will clear in places, haze and fog will reduce visibility across most of the country. Winds will be light, and the temperature will drop to +4 to +9 degrees.
Monday daytime
No significant changes are expected. Cloud cover will mostly prevail, with brief showers in places and continued light winds. The temperature will reach +9 to +13 degrees.
In Riga
In the capital, skies will clear at times overnight, but rain is possible in the first half of the night. From the middle of the night, haze and fog will form, and the temperature will fall to +5 to +7 degrees. On Monday Riga will be mostly cloudy, with a chance of brief rain in the evening. Daytime temperatures will reach +10 to +12 degrees.
