British gymnast Evans, known for her striking performances in the air, says she isn't primarily driven by medals — instead, improving as a gymnast is what motivates her most.

Asked whether she is targeting gold at the LA 2028 Olympics, she smiles and says it's possible, but only if her performance is good enough.

Two vaults, key to individual success

To be competitive for individual apparatus success at an Olympics, a gymnast must be able to perform two different vaults with distinct entries. That is currently the main focus of Evans' training.

She explains that mastering a second vault could significantly improve her chances, but admits the skill is still at an early stage of development and needs considerable refinement before it's competition-ready.

Eyes on the Europeans and Worlds

For now, Evans and her team are concentrating on delivering a strong performance in Sunday's women's team final at the European Championships. A good result there would set them up for October's World Championships, which in turn could open the door to Olympic qualification.

Observers note that Evans is likely to continue attracting attention, having already shown she is a gymnast worth watching closely.
