New Volkswagen ID. Cross: Electric Crossover with Up to 211 HP and 436 km Range
Volkswagen has unveiled the new ID. Cross electric crossover, available with two battery options and a range of up to 436 km. The model will hit the market in autumn 2026 with a starting price of around €28,000.

Volkswagen has officially unveiled the new ID. Cross electric crossover, expanding the brand's compact electric vehicle lineup. Positioned as a practical, spacious city SUV alternative, the ID. Cross is built on the updated MEB+ platform with front-wheel drive.
Buyers can choose between two battery options: 37 kWh and 52 kWh (net). The smaller battery is available with an 85 kW (116 hp) or 99 kW (135 hp) electric motor, while the larger battery is paired exclusively with a 155 kW (211 hp) motor. All variants feature Volkswagen's new APP290 electric motor producing 290 Nm of torque, a newly developed inverter, and Cell-to-Pack battery technology.
The 37 kWh version offers a range of up to 316 km (WLTP) and supports DC fast charging at up to 90 kW, charging from 10 to 80% in about 27 minutes. Meanwhile, the 52 kWh version provides up to 436 km of range with a maximum DC charging power of 105 kW, completing a 10-80% charge in 24 minutes. AC charging at 11 kW takes less than four hours. Top speed is 150 km/h for the 85 and 99 kW variants, and 160 km/h for the 155 kW variant.
The ID. Cross measures 4.15 meters in length, 1.79 m in width, 1.58 m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.60 m. Ground clearance is 140 mm, and curb weight starts at 1,539 kg. Luggage capacity stands at 475 liters, with an additional 22-liter frunk under the hood. Wheel sizes range from 17 to 20 inches.
The vehicle features Vehicle-to-Load capability with 3.6 kW output, roof rails with a dynamic load capacity of 75 kg, and a detachable tow hitch. The 52 kWh version can tow up to 1,200 kg. Three trim levels are available: Trend, Life, and Style. Standard equipment includes 17-inch wheels, climate control, and driver assistance systems. The Life trim adds 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera. The Style trim brings Matrix LED headlights, 3D LED taillights, illuminated Volkswagen logos, and keyless entry.
A new feature is Connected Travel Assist, which uses online data to recognize traffic lights and automatically stop the car when necessary. One-Pedal Driving is also available. Optional extras include a Harman Kardon audio system with 425 W and ten speakers, electrically adjustable front seats with pneumatic massage, and a panoramic roof.
Sales of the Volkswagen ID. Cross will begin in autumn 2026, with a starting price of approximately €28,000.
