Latest party ratings show two clear frontrunners, ZZS support drops sharply

The latest SKDS party ratings, commissioned by Delfi and LSM, show that five lists would enter the Saeima if elections were held tomorrow. The most popular force is the United List of Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs with 12.2% support, followed by Sovereign Power/New Latvians at 11.4%. Latvia First (LPV) would receive 10%, the Progressives 9%, and the National Alliance 5.5%. Parties below the five-percent threshold include New Unity with 4.3%, the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) with 2.9%, and We Change the Events, led by director Alvis Hermanis, with 2.4%.

Compared with June, the United List has grown from 9.8% to 12.2%, while Sovereign Power/New Latvians gained from 8.6% to 11.4%. LPV rose slightly from 9.8% to 10%. The Progressives increased from 8.4% to 9%, and New Unity from 4.2% to 4.3%. The National Alliance remained unchanged at 5.5%. ZZS dropped from 4.4% to 2.9%, and We Change the Events from 2.7% to 2.4%.

SKDS head Arnis Kaktins said on the Panorama program that ZZS is the first major victim of the United List, attributing this to a leader phenomenon. Voters hope for change, and in the pair between Kulbergs and Economy Minister Viktors Valainis, Kulbergs has proven stronger.

The survey was conducted on 10–15 July among 1,205 permanent residents of Latvia aged 18–75. The electoral choices reflect only the responses of Latvian citizens. A large share of respondents—23.4%—were undecided, and 11.5% said they would not participate. The 15th Saeima elections will take place on Saturday, 3 October, with polling stations open from 8:00 to 20:00; voters can cast ballots at any station.
