New indie game releases

This week offers a diverse range of indie games. Denshattack! combines a train with skateboard tricks: players control a train in a dystopian Japan, jumping between tracks and performing stunts. Available on Steam, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox for PC at $20 (10% discount until July 29). It is also on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

D-topia is a sci-fi adventure where AI has created a perfect civilization. Players act as a maintenance worker helping residents and solving puzzles. The game features a branching narrative and a clean aesthetic reminiscent of Mirror's Edge. Developed by Marumittu Games and published by Annapurna Interactive, it costs $20 with a 10% launch discount.

Moss: The Forgotten Relic combines Moss and its sequel with the Twilight Garden expansion into a single 2D adventure. Players without VR can follow mouse Quill through platforming, puzzles, and combat. The version includes new cutscenes, a revamped camera system, and upgraded visuals. Available on Steam, Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox platforms for $20.

Orpheus: To Hell and Back is a rare Game Boy cartridge game now on Steam. Players control Orpheus using a magical lyre to control enemies and rescue his beloved. Priced at only $3.

Teeto is a 3D platformer where players absorb object traits (e.g., vine, chair). Supports co-op and character customization. Costs $18 with a 20% launch discount.

Grapple Bear is a precision platformer where a mother bear searches for her cub using a grapple hook. Levels are short, and a new procedurally generated level appears weekly. Hand-drawn graphics. Available on Steam for $5.

Upcoming releases

Dispatch, a superhero workplace comedy from former Telltale developers, arrives on Xbox July 29. It also gains new language localizations.

Aerial_Knight's MrFreezy (September 1) is a light-hearted puzzle game about a female serial killer decapitating victims. Grandma(88) (2026) is a mystery thriller where a girl uncovers her family's dark past. Capy Castaway (August 6) is a narrative adventure about a capybara pup returning home. Worming from Home (September 4) is a short game where a worm financial analyst climbs the career ladder.
