This weekend, Jaunlaicene will host the fourth World Malēnieši Festival, offering traditional profitroļi, a 'Puns' card game olympiad, and a wide cultural program.

Festival program and traditions
On July 24-25, the fourth World Malēnieši Festival will take place in Jaunlaicene, Alūksne municipality. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Malēnieši traditions, enjoy concerts, dance performances, and theater shows.
A highlight of the festival is the traditional festive dish profitroļi, which attendees can taste. Additionally, a 'Puns' card game olympiad will be held, showcasing one of the region's unique pastimes.
