New week to begin with heavy rain and chilly weather
Latvia's week will start with rain, including localized thunderstorms and heavy downpours in places, as air temperatures drop to autumn levels.
Overnight into Monday, rain is expected across much of Latvia, with some areas seeing heavy downpours and thunderstorms. Skies will clear in some places. Nighttime temperatures will drop to between +9 and +14 degrees.
Winds will blow from the west and southwest, remaining gusty along the coast early in the night before easing by morning.
In Riga, intermittent rain showers are expected overnight, with slow to moderate southwesterly winds. The temperature in the capital will gradually fall to between +10 and +12 degrees.
Monday brings rain nationwide
On Monday, rain is forecast across a large part of the country, with thunderstorms and heavy downpours possible in some areas. Winds will be slow to moderate, mainly from the west, while coastal areas will see westerly to northwesterly winds. Daytime temperatures will rise to between +14 and +17 degrees, marking a distinctly autumnal start to the week.
