Tonight, BBC Four will broadcast a new French drama titled 'The Sentinels', which mixes World War I themes with science fiction. The series is adapted from a French graphic novel series.

The plot follows Gabriel Ferraud (Louis Peres), who is seriously wounded on the front line. He is offered a top-secret treatment in Paris that could either kill him or turn him into a 'super soldier'. The story raises questions about how much the Germans know about this experiment and what the Sentinels are truly being created for.

In addition to the drama, the evening's schedule includes other programs. On Channel 5 at 8pm, Alexander Armstrong continues his US road trip in 'Alexander Armstrong Across America', travelling from the Hoover Dam to the Utah deserts, with a stop in Las Vegas. BBC One at 8.10pm airs an episode of 'Casualty', where doctor Dylan struggles with alcohol addiction.

On BBC Two at 8.50pm, 'TOTP: Big Hits 2000' features artists like Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and Destiny's Child, while 'TOTP: The Story of 2000' at 9.50pm explores the year's music events, including the arrival of Eminem.

Sports fans can watch the Wimbledon women's singles final, the eighth stage of the Tour de France, and cricket matches.
