New Channel 5 Series 'Aces of Tennis' to Kick Off Ahead of Wimbledon

A new four-part documentary series on Channel 5, 'Aces of Tennis: The ATP No 1 Club', will explore the careers of the 29 male players who have reached the top of the ATP rankings, beginning with the controversial Ilie Năstase. The show airs June 29 at 10pm.

Just in time for Wimbledon, Channel 5 is launching a four-part series titled 'Aces of Tennis: The ATP No 1 Club'. The programme delves into the lives and careers of the 29 men who have achieved the number one spot in the ATP rankings. The first episode focuses on the 1970s, featuring Romanian star Ilie Năstase, known for his skilful backhand and bad-boy reputation. The series airs on June 29 at 10pm.

Other notable television events on the same evening include the Channel 4 documentary 'Dover 24/7: Britain’s Busiest Port', which follows an overnight shift at the Dover port, including the docking of a replica 17th-century ship. Additionally, the drama 'The Brokenwood Mysteries' returns with a new episode on U&Drama, and medical series '24 Hours in A&E' continues on Channel 4. The popular fantasy series 'House of the Dragon' also airs a new episode on Sky Atlantic, dealing with the aftermath of the Dance of the Dragons. Lastly, Channel 4's 'Secrets of the Celebrity Sex Tapes' examines the Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee tape.

For live sport, BBC Two will broadcast Wimbledon tennis from 10.30am, with Emma Raducanu seeded 30.
