New quiz tests basic knowledge of the Latvian language
The portal kokteilis.lv has published a new quiz with 12 simple questions on Latvian spelling, inviting readers to check whether they know the most basic rules.
With autumn approaching, the portal kokteilis.lv has decided to remind readers of basic Latvian language knowledge by publishing a new quiz containing 12 questions on spelling. The quiz's creators note that the chosen questions are elementary and that anyone who speaks Latvian should know the correct answers.
According to the authors, if a person makes more than two mistakes while taking the quiz, it is recommended to start over from the beginning, since the language rules covered are described as things one simply must know. As an example of how basic the questions are, the quiz includes a question about the correct spelling of the word "skolotājs" (teacher) — out of three options given, the correct one is "skolotājs", rather than either of the two misspelled variants.
The quiz consists of 12 questions of similar difficulty in total, and readers are invited to test whether they can correctly answer at least ten of them. According to the quiz's creators, those who fail to reach that result should consider brushing up on the basics of the Latvian language.
