Latvijas Avīze has published a new entertainment quiz on its website inviting readers to recall their school-day Latvian language lessons and test their knowledge of parts of speech. Participants must determine whether a given word is a noun, verb, adjective, or adverb.

As an example, the word "saulē" (in the sun) is given, and readers must choose the correct part of speech from four options. The quiz consists of 10 questions, and readers are challenged to see whether they can score at least 80% correct answers.

The article's introduction recalls the traditional school practice of teachers calling students to the blackboard to identify a word's grammatical category. Now the same exercise is offered remotely, without grades, simply as a way to test one's mental sharpness.

The quiz is part of a broader series of tests published by Latvijas Avīze, which has previously featured quizzes on recognizing Latvian regions from photos, post-Soviet era TV series, legendary cartoon characters, as well as a test about one's "love language" and various questions tied to memories of the 1990s and the Soviet period. All these quizzes are presented as light entertainment content for readers wanting to test their knowledge or memory on various topics.
