JBL's colorful Pulse 6 speaker to ship next month with a 360-degree light show
JBL is preparing to release its new Pulse 6 Bluetooth speaker, which pairs audio playback with an elaborate lighting display. The device is priced at $330 and preorders are already open.

JBL has expanded its Bluetooth speaker lineup with the Pulse 6, a device that functions as both a music player and a colorful light source. The speaker is now available for preorder, with shipping expected to begin on September 6. It carries a retail price of $330.
A 360-degree light display
The standout feature of the Pulse 6 is its ability to produce a full 360-degree light show. Its integrated handle gives it the appearance of an old-fashioned lantern, but the technology inside is thoroughly modern. Users can choose from 16 preset lighting themes, ten designed for calm, ambient settings and six geared toward livelier party atmospheres.
The speaker can also link up with other JBL gear, including compatible PartyBox speakers and the PartyLight Stick, to create a more elaborate combined light show. Additionally, JBL's Auracast technology allows the Pulse 6 to sync audio playback with other JBL devices.
Improved sound performance
On the audio front, JBL says the Pulse 6 delivers more balanced sound thanks to an upgraded acoustic design compared to earlier models — a notable update given that the Pulse line last saw a refresh back in 2022. The speaker also incorporates JBL's AI Sound Boost technology, aimed at reducing distortion and enhancing overall acoustic performance.
The Pulse 6 is rated for up to 12 hours of battery life and carries an IP68 rating, making it resistant to both water and dust.
